Medio Maratón Puerto de Veracruz
The Lowdown
The Medio Maratón Puerto de Veracruz is an annual half marathon organized by Bike and Run and the Club Deportivo Social y Cultural Casa Homs, A.C., endorsed by the Federación Mexicana de Asociaciones de Atletismo, along the Gulf coast in the port city of Veracruz. Now in its third decade, the race starts on Boulevard Ávila Camacho near the Hotel Costa Verde and follows the city's oceanfront boulevard past the Holiday Inn, Hotel Mar y Tierra, and the PEMEX tower before finishing with a lap of the athletics track at the Universidad Veracruzana's Facultad de Educación Física. The certified 21,097-meter (13.1-mile) course draws thousands of runners each year -- the 2026 edition (its 20th, presented as "Medio Maratón La Costeña") drew more than 3,000 official finishers, with Elisa Sánchez Hernández and Hesiquio Romero Flores taking the women's and men's titles. Entrants receive an official bib, commemorative t-shirt, finisher backpack, and medal, plus cash prizes for top overall and category finishers. The next edition, the 21st, is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, 2027 at 6:00 AM, with online registration already open through asdeporte.com and Bike and Run.
