Medio Maratón Tratados de Córdoba
The Lowdown
The Medio Maratón Tratados de Córdoba is an annual road race through the historic center of Córdoba, a colonial city in the central Mexican state of Veracruz, organized by the city's municipal government (Ayuntamiento de Córdoba) through its Sports Department (COMUDE) and produced by Alquimia Deportiva. Named for the Treaty of Córdoba, the 1821 agreement that recognized Mexican independence and was signed in this city, the race was revived by the municipality as a traditional Córdoba event. The 2026 edition ran Sunday, August 16, with a half marathon (21K), 10K, and 5K starting and finishing at Parque 21 de Mayo in the historic center at 6:30, 6:35, and 6:40 a.m. respectively, drawing more than 1,350 runners from across Veracruz state, other parts of Mexico, and abroad, including Kenyan elite Eliud Kipkorir, who placed second in the men's race. The course is an official World Athletics-endorsed route, and organizers reported a prize purse of more than 300,000 pesos across age-group, open, master, and adaptive (wheelchair, blind, and visually impaired) categories for men and women. Registration for the 2026 edition ran through the RunTimeMX platform (runtimemx.com) and in person at the COMUDE offices at Gimnasio El Mexicano; the 2027 edition has not yet been announced in detail, so the date shown here is projected from the event's observed cadence (the 2026 race fell on the third Sunday of August).
