NewBo Run Half Marathon
The Lowdown
NewBo Run Half Marathon is an annual Labor Day weekend race through Cedar Rapids, Iowa, organized by the Corridor Running Club (formerly the Cedar Valley Running Association, founded in 1982). Both the half marathon and a companion 10K start and finish at NewBo City Market in the New Bohemia arts district, tracing an out-and-back route along the Sac & Fox River Trail beside the Cedar River, through Prairie Park Fishery and the Indian Creek Nature Center. The course is mostly flat and fast river-trail running, with occasional rolling hills concentrated in the first and last few miles near downtown. Nine water stops line the route, with Gatorade offered at every other station. Every finisher receives a custom hand-crafted medal, and the race partners with New Bohemia businesses for post-race treats, local beer, and commemorative shirts. Runners have a 3-hour finish window. The 2026 edition ran on September 6; given the race's consistent Labor Day weekend timing since at least 2023, the next edition is projected for early September 2027, though Corridor Running has not yet opened registration or published official 2027 details.
