The Lowdown
Cajun Country Run is billed as Acadiana's oldest half marathon, held at Acadiana Park in Lafayette. It started in 2002 and has supported the nonprofit T.R.A.I.L. since 2010. The half marathon is a single road loop certified by USATF, and the 10K and 5K come as road or trail races, plus a 1-mile fun run. The trail 10K follows technical sections along the Vermilion River. Fast finishers take home a handmade alligator head trophy.
