It has been run as the itdesign-Nikolauslauf in recent years. The course loops through the Naturpark Schönbuch forest on finely graded gravel paths, with about 8.5 km on asphalt, roughly 300 m of total climbing and a maximum height difference of 82 m. The distance is officially measured and recognized as a road race. Start and finish are on Waldhäuser Straße, a short walk from the runners' fair. The half marathon is sold out, and the only way to get a place now is the official start-place swap, open from November until the start. From 2026 every half marathon finisher receives a medal.
