The Lowdown

The OCNJ Half Marathon is run on the first Sunday of October by the City of Ocean City Recreation Department, with a 10-miler and a 5K alongside it. It starts at 9th Street and the boardwalk beside the Music Pier and finishes on the boardwalk at the Music Pier. The course is described as fast and flat, running along the boardwalk and through downtown with ocean views. It is USATF-certified and includes an out-and-back over the Longport Bridge. Runners use a roped lane on the boardwalk, which stays open to pedestrians and bikers. There are seven water stations, with sports drink at each and GU Gels at stations 4 and 6. Proceeds support Ocean City Recreation scholarships and programs. RaceRaves readers named it the best half marathon in New Jersey in 2026.
