Boise Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Boise Half Marathon is a fall road race held each November in Boise, Idaho, organized by SoleKIDs, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs youth after-school running programs across the Treasure Valley. The course follows the Boise Greenbelt, the city's paved riverside path system along the Boise River, giving runners a flat, tree-lined route through downtown Boise. The race starts at 9:00 AM MST, with a 12:00 PM course cutoff, and offers both an in-person Half Marathon and a Virtual any-time option. All finishers receive a race shirt and medal, and the course is marked with SoleKIDs' signature neon pink flags and turn-by-turn directional signage. Runners can pick up race packets the Thursday and Friday before race day at Shu's Idaho Running Company and a second downtown location, with limited race-morning pickup available only in exceptional circumstances. Free parking is available near the start/finish area, and organizers recommend arriving by 8:15 AM. Proceeds support SoleKIDs' youth running programs. The Boise Half Marathon runs independently of the summer Boise Marathon, giving Treasure Valley runners a dedicated late-season half marathon target on the city's signature riverside trail.
