Parma Marathon

Parma Marathon is the 10th edition of the marathon in Parma, in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 as the headline event of a race weekend (October 17-18) organized by ParmaRathon ASD under the tagline 'Just Run.' The FIDAL-certified and homologated 42.195 km course is a repeating loop of roughly 10.6 km, starting and finishing at the public park of the Cittadella on Via Passo Buole at 9:15 am, with a 5-hour-30-minute time limit. Each lap threads through Parma's historic center, passing Piazza Duomo and the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, Teatro Regio, the Monumento a Giuseppe Verdi, Ponte Verdi over the Parma river, and the tree-lined paths of Parco Ducale, with a maximum elevation gain of about 130 meters over the full distance. The race weekend also includes the Trenta2 (32 km), Venti4 (24 km), Vigorosa (10 km competitive), and DesmÌla (10 km non-competitive) events, all sharing the Cittadella start/finish. The 2025 marathon drew 442 finishers, with the wider weekend field topping roughly 4,000 runners across all distances. Registration fees rise on a tiered EUR schedule from January through race weekend, and every finisher receives a race packet, medal, timing chip, refreshments, baggage check, and finisher diploma. Top sponsors include Parmigiano Reggiano, KING, OPEM, and Eurocar, reflecting the event's standing as an established regional fixture in Italy's 'Food Valley.'
