The Lowdown

The Prince Edward Island Marathon, also called the PEI Marathon, is a mid-October road marathon in Charlottetown, run each year since 2004 over a weekend that also includes a half marathon, 15K, 10K, 5K, team relay and a kids' Fox Trot. The 22nd edition ran on Sunday 18 October 2026, and the next one is expected on the third weekend of October 2027. The marathon starts at 7:00 am at the corner of Great George and Grafton Streets and finishes near University Avenue and Grafton Street. The course is certified, so it counts as a Boston qualifier. Kit pickup is at the Holman Grand Hotel on the Friday and Saturday, with no race-morning pickup. Water is offered on every course, and marathoners also get fruit, SIS gels and Gatorade. Proceeds support CMHA-PEI.
