Run Internacional: The US-Mexico 10K is a binational road race that starts at San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso, Texas, runs 5K through the streets of El Paso, then crosses the international border into Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua via the Stanton-Lerdo International Bridge for a second 5K past Ciudad Juárez City Hall, the Plaza de Toros bullring, the Mexican Revolution Museum, the Misión de Guadalupe, and the Juárez Cathedral, before finishing at the international boundary line atop the Paso del Norte International Bridge. Founded in 2015 by the El Paso Community Foundation in partnership with the office of then-U.S. Representative Beto O'Rourke, the race was created as a celebration of the shared binational community that spans the two border cities, and has grown from roughly 800 runners at its debut to more than 3,000 for its 7th edition. Because the course crosses an international border on foot, participants must carry a valid WHTI-compliant travel document such as a passport, passport card, or SENTRI/Global Entry card; U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents do not need a Mexican visa. The 7th edition, originally set for November 2025, was postponed to January 17, 2026 due to a U.S. government shutdown; the 8th edition has not yet been scheduled but is expected to return to the race's traditional fall date.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

No standing refund/transfer policy published; when the 2025 edition was postponed by a U.S. government shutdown, registered runners were offered a choice between staying in the rescheduled race or a refund by a stated deadline. Review the official registration page for the current policy before registering.

Organized by the El Paso Community Foundation (nonprofit), founded in 2015 in partnership with the office of then-U.S. Representative Beto O'Rourke.

Grown from ~800 runners at the 2015 debut to 3,000+ at the 7th edition (Jan 2026); organizers have stated a goal of 10,000 participants for the 8th edition.

Edition cadence has been irregular: 4th edition Nov 16, 2019; 6th edition Mar 2, 2024; 7th edition originally set for Nov 15, 2025, postponed to Jan 17, 2026 by a U.S. federal government shutdown. No 8th-edition date is confirmed as of Aug 2026 — the date in this record is an estimate, not an announced date.

Border-crossing lanes at the Paso Del Norte and Stanton Street ports of entry are partially closed on race morning (roughly 6-10 AM) to accommodate the course.

This is a genuinely binational event: the organizer and start line are in El Paso, TX (US), but half the course, most of the named landmarks, and the finish line (on the international boundary line of the Paso del Norte Bridge) are shared with or located in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
