The Lowdown
The Santander Maratona de Curitiba runs through the capital of Paraná at roughly 950 meters above sea level, on a rolling course with around 350 meters of total climbing. It starts at Praça Nossa Senhora de Salete in the Civic Center and passes through the Batel district and near landmarks such as the Jardim Botânico and the Ópera de Arame. The 2026 edition is on November 15 and offers 42K, 21K, 10K and 5K races, with a combined cap of 16,000 athletes. Starts go off in waves, with the marathon and half marathon first and the 10K and 5K after them. Marathon runners have a 6-hour limit and must be at least 20 years old by the end of 2026. Santander customers get 10% off the current price tier, and runners over 60 get 50% off the Smart kit. The expo and kit pickup run November 12-14 at the Museu Oscar Niemeyer, and no kits are handed out on race day. Mid-November in Curitiba is spring, with mornings usually between 15 and 25°C.
