Singelloop Utrecht returns to Utrecht, Netherlands, on October 4, 2026, the year after the race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025. First held on May 30, 1925 along the city's canal ring, Singelloop Utrecht is the oldest street race in the Netherlands and has run in most years since, aside from a wartime gap from 1940 to 1946, a handful of early cancellations, and a hiatus from 2001 to 2006 before local organizers revived it in 2007. The flat, fully traffic-free course follows the historic Utrechtse Singels canals and loops through Wilhelminapark, drawing thousands of runners and large crowds of spectators along the route. Kenyan runner Leonard Komon set what was then a men's 10K world record of 26:44 on this course in 2010, a mark that still stands as the event's course record; Eva Cherono holds the women's course record at 30:51, set in 2019. The 2024 edition drew a record 19,000 participants across all distances. For 2026 the program includes the TREK 10 KM and 5 KM road races plus Kids Runs (1K and 2K) and corporate Business Runs; the half marathon, added for the 2025 centenary, is not on the 2026 program. Snack brand TREK (a Lotus Bakeries label) became title sponsor starting with the 2025 centennial edition, succeeding a run of earlier sponsors including ABN AMRO. As in past years, runners can register through the "Ren tegen Kanker" (Run Against Cancer) partnership with the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF), earning a special shirt for raising at least €500 in donations.
