Wichita River Run

The Wichita River Run is a road race in downtown Wichita, Kansas, held on a Saturday morning in late May or early June as part of the Wichita Riverfest festival week. The headline event is a 10K that starts at 7:15 a.m., and the program is presented today as the Fidelity Bank River Run, with the 10K itself carrying the name of the Marriott International CEC 10K Race. A 5K follows at 7:45 a.m. as the Katie Partridge Memorial 5K, and a wheelchair division of that 5K starts ten minutes earlier, at 7:35 a.m. Later in the morning the program turns to families: a one-mile Family Fun Run starts at 9:15 a.m., and the Lane Enterprises Tot Trot at 10:30 a.m. is open to children aged 2 to 7, with the distance set by age, from 20 yards for two-year-olds up to 70 yards for seven-year-olds. Registration runs through RunSignup with tiered pricing: an early rate for adults in the first two months of the year, a higher rate from March through race morning, and lower youth rates for runners aged 12 and under. Registrants receive a button, a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medallion. Timing is handled by TimerGuys, and results are posted on TimerGuys.com after the race.
