Yerevan Marathon
The Lowdown
The Yerevan Marathon is Armenia's flagship long-distance race, held annually in the capital city of Yerevan and sanctioned as a full AIMS member event by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. Organized by the Arm Marathon Foundation together with the Yerevan City Administration and TriClub, the route traces through the Yerevan city center and the gorge of the Hrazdan River, with an elevation profile in the 970-1,070 meter range and roughly 300 meters of gain on the full marathon course. The 2026 edition runs across two days: the 1 km kids run and 5 km fun run start near the Florence Restaurant in the Hrazdan River Gorge on October 17, followed by the 12 km, half marathon, and marathon starting from Shahumyan Square on October 18. Aid stations are placed every 4-5 km, no medical certificate is required to enter, and Armenian citizens aged 65 and older receive a 50% discount on registration. Entry fees are tiered by registration group and quoted in Armenian dram (AMD): early marathon entry starts at 15,000 AMD, half marathon at 11,000 AMD, 12 km at 9,000 AMD, and 5 km at 6,000 AMD, rising in later registration groups.
