Aarhus City Half
The Lowdown
Aarhus City Half is Denmark's largest half marathon, a 21.0975 km closed-road race through the heart of Aarhus starting and finishing at Rådhusparken and Musikhusparken. The route passes the ARoS Art Museum, Musikhuset, Aarhus City Hall Tower, Aarhus Cathedral, DOKK1, and the harbour district Aarhus Ø beneath Denmark's tallest building, The Lighthouse, before continuing along Strandvejen, through Mindeparken and Frederiksbjerg, and finishing on spectator-packed Frederiks Allé. The event is organized by Aarhus Motion, which also runs DHL Stafetten and Ree Park Safari Run, and the June 2026 edition marked the 13th running of the half marathon and the 10th year with BESTSELLER, a Danish fashion group, as title sponsor, drawing roughly 12,500-13,000 runners and about 50,000 spectators along more than 60 entertainment hotspots and a cycling-style Tour Caravan. The next edition, on June 20, 2027, sold out within a day of registration opening; a limited number of bibs may still become available through the organizer's official resale platform. There is no full marathon distance in Aarhus under this event; the race is a half marathon only.
