The Lowdown

Invernalissima is Umbria's marquee winter half marathon, run on flat, traffic-closed roads linking Bastia Umbra, Santa Maria degli Angeli and Rivotorto, passing about a kilometer from the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi. Organized by A.S.P.A. Bastia under FIDAL's national calendar, the race starts and finishes at the Umbriafiere fairground (Centro Fieristico Ludovico Maschiella) and reaches its 48th edition on December 13, 2026. Past editions have filled the 1,300-runner cap, so early sign-up on the ICRON portal is recommended. The 2025 edition's entry fee rose in tiers from EUR 28 to EUR 38 as race day approached; the 2026 fee schedule had not yet been published as of September 2026. A non-competitive 5K Family Run follows the main event, and organizers donate part of every entry to a local disability charity.
