The Lowdown

The Bozeman Half Marathon & 10K is an annual, USATF-certified point-to-point road race in Bozeman, Montana, run each September against the backdrop of the Bridger and Gallatin mountain ranges. Both distances start in the southern foothills above town and drop steadily downhill to a finish on historic Main Street, making the course popular with runners chasing a fast personal record (PR). The event, presented with Brooks Running and the nonprofit Bozeman Distance Project, also includes a Friday-night 5K Brew Run shakeout at a local brewery. Race weekend runs on a mandatory shuttle system from Main Street to the point-to-point start, since parked cars at the start line are towed; the shuttle departs at 6:45 a.m. for the half marathon and 6:55 a.m. for the 10K. On course, six aid stations supply water, Tailwind electrolyte drink, Hammer gels, and LMNT electrolyte. Finishers receive a custom tech tee, gear bag, and a bottle-opener finisher's medal, with prize money and course-record bonuses for the top three men and women. Once known as the Bozeman Marathon, the race dropped its full-distance option and is now held as a half marathon and 10K only. Registration is open for the 2026 edition on Sunday, September 13, with prices increasing closer to race day.
