Carrera La Lupita
The Lowdown
Carrera La Lupita is an annual 15K and 5K road race in Mérida, the capital of Mexico's Yucatán state, staged at Parque Bicentenario Animaya, the city's zoological park, and organized by Grupo La Lupita, the family-run botana (snack) retailer whose stores serve as the race's main kit-pickup and registration points. Held on a Sunday near the end of August each year, the race starts at 5:30 a.m. with running and roller-skating divisions over both the 15K and 5K distances, plus children's categories, drawing more than 3,000 participants to its 10th edition in 2026. The event is backed by the Instituto del Deporte del Estado de Yucatán and the Ayuntamiento de Mérida, and each edition raises funds for a different local cause — the 2024 edition benefited the Asilo Burnet Celarain retirement home, while the 2026 edition supported Impulso Universitario, a university-access program. Registration runs through Botanas La Lupita stores, Room Store, Planeta Maratón, and Digital Room locations across Mérida, as well as online via the Dashport-powered vivedeporte.mx platform. Grupo La Lupita also runs a separate sister race under the same 'Carrera La Lupita' name in Campeche, on a different date — a distinct event from this Mérida edition.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
No public refund/cancellation policy is published by the organizer; entry fees should be treated as non-refundable, consistent with most Mexican club-organized community races of this scale.
10th edition held August 30, 2026, with more than 3,000 participants across running, roller-skating, and children's categories.
Organized by Grupo La Lupita (the Botanas La Lupita snack retailer), with support from the Instituto del Deporte del Estado de Yucatán and the Ayuntamiento de Mérida.
Proceeds benefit a different local cause each year: the Asilo Burnet Celarain retirement home in 2024, and Impulso Universitario (a university-access program) in 2026.
Grupo La Lupita also stages a separate sister event under the same 'Carrera La Lupita' name in Campeche (2026 edition held September 6, 2026, a different date and city) — a distinct race from this Mérida edition, not to be confused with it.
Not to be confused with the unrelated Maratón de Mérida, a separate marathon event in the same city.
