Carrera por la Fundación de Zapopan is the annual closing race of the Serial Corramos Zapopan, the municipal running series organized by Comude Zapopan (the city's sports council) in Zapopan, Jalisco, part of the Guadalajara metro area. The free, open 10K -- with a 5K option added for 2026 -- commemorates the founding of Zapopan in 1542 and has run every December for over a decade; the 14th edition took place Sunday, December 14, 2025, drawing about 4,000 registered runners. The course starts and finishes on Avenida Hidalgo in front of the Palacio Municipal de Zapopan, looping through the historic city center past Lienzo Charro La Generala and connecting to Avenida Juan Pablo II before returning to the start. Entry is completely free and capped at roughly 4,000 participants; registration opens online via a Google Form on the Comude Zapopan website, requires a CURP number and basic medical information, and is announced only through the council's official social media (no phone or in-person sign-ups). All official bib-holders receive a commemorative finisher medal, and the race includes hydration stations, medical support, security along the route, restrooms, and a bag/coat check.
