Maratón Puerto Vallarta
The Lowdown
The Maratón Puerto Vallarta is Mexico's premier Pacific-coast destination marathon, staged on the Banderas Bay oceanfront in the resort city of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The 42.2K, 21.1K, 10K, and 5K races start and finish at the Los Arcos amphitheater on Vallarta's iconic Malecón boardwalk, sending runners along the beachfront promenade with views of the bay before looping back through the city. Now in its 8th edition, the marathon course is sanctioned by Mundo de Atletismo en México, AIMS, and World Athletics, and the 42K serves as a qualifier for international marathons including Boston. The race weekend includes a public race expo and draws both Mexican and international runners for a warm-weather, scenic coastal marathon experience.
