The Lowdown

The Great 10K Berlin is an annual autumn road race through the German capital, held since the event's founding in 2008 as the ASICS Grand 10 Berlin; title sponsorship later passed to daily newspaper Berliner Morgenpost, and the event now runs under the sponsor-neutral name Great 10K. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, October 11, with start and finish on the forecourt of Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace). The flat, fast 10-kilometer course heads out via Spandauer Damm and Otto-Suhr-Allee to Ernst-Reuter-Platz, loops past the Berlin Victory Column and through Tiergarten, cuts through Berlin Zoo, then returns via Budapester Straße and Kantstraße to the palace — a routing organizers market as 'the fastest city run in Germany.' Alongside the main 10K, the event offers a 4.2-kilometer short course starting at the Zoo, a 2x5K relay for pairs, and Bambini/kids' races for children born 2014-2021. More than 5,000 runners typically take part each year. Online registration runs through davengo.com with tiered pricing that rises as the event approaches; the current price tier is open through September 27, 2026, after which late registration fees apply. The men's course record of 27:12 was set by Leonard Patrick Komon in 2010, still described as the fastest 10K ever run in a German competition.
