The Lowdown
The Hernando Water Tower Half Marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. on Hernando's historic Town Square, in the shadow of the 1925 water tower, an official Mississippi Landmark. The course is USATF certified and tours the town's historic neighborhoods and scenic areas around Hernando. It was added in 2025 next to the 10K and is the longer race of the weekend. The course closes at noon and half marathoners must reach the 10-mile marker by 11:00 a.m. Proceeds benefit Hernando Excel By 5's Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and every registered runner is invited to the Race After Party with food, drinks, live music, awards and door prizes.
