Maratón de Zaragoza
The Lowdown
The MANN-FILTER Maratón de Zaragoza is Zaragoza's annual city marathon (42.195 km), title-sponsored by automotive filter brand Mann-Filter and held alongside a 10K on the same morning. Both races start and finish at the iconic Plaza del Pilar. The route was redesigned to run through the historic center past the Roman Walls, Central Market, Plaza de España, Paseo de Independencia, Plaza de Aragón, the Puente del Tercer Milenio and Puente de Piedra bridges over the Ebro, and the Plaza de Toros bullring, with its one significant climb (Tenor Fleta to the Imperial Canal) moved earlier in the course. The XIX edition ran April 12, 2026 in rain and wind, drawing about 9,500 combined marathon and 10K finishers (marathon field capped at 3,000); Kenya's Micah Kiptoo Kosgei (2:17:32) and Ethiopia's Ayantu Gemechu (2:36:09) won. The organizer's official site had not yet published date, price, or registration details for the next edition as of this writing; the next edition is expected April 11, 2027 per third-party race calendars, pending official confirmation.
