Medio Maratón de Campeche Puerta de Mar

The Medio Maratón de Campeche Puerta de Mar is an annual half marathon held each October in San Francisco de Campeche, the walled colonial capital of Campeche state on Mexico's Gulf coast, as part of the city's Feria de San Francisco. The 21K starts and finishes at the Puerta de Mar, the restored sea gate anchoring the historic walled center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The flat, coastal course runs through the Zona Monumental Histórica past the Asta Bandera flagpole plaza and Fuerte de San Miguel, follows the malecón waterfront north along Avenida Resurgimiento, then returns along the coast to the finish. Organized by the Campeche city government, the race also offers 10K and 5K options plus a recreational walk, with a capped field of a few hundred entrants drawn mostly from the region. For 2026, KIA Motors joined as a presenting partner and a new youth category was added. The race starts around 5:40 a.m. to beat the Gulf coast heat and humidity.
