The Lowdown
The Medio Maratón Villista is the half marathon of the Feria Nacional Francisco Villa in Durango, organized by the state government. It runs 21K, 10K and 5K on the Durango-Mezquital highway and through the city, starting and finishing at the fairgrounds. The 21K is chip-timed with a 3-hour limit and 8 aid stations. Every finisher inside the limit gets a medal. The 5K also has categories for blind and low-vision runners and for wheelchair users. The race is held on the last Sunday of July, and the 2026 edition drew more than 1,000 runners.
