Old Port Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Old Port Half Marathon is an annual road race through Portland, Maine, held each June as part of the Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon & 5K weekend. First run in 2011, the single-loop 13.1-mile course follows Portland's Casco Bay waterfront and Back Cove before finishing in the historic Old Port district, passing lighthouses and Civil War-era forts along the way. Shipyard Brewing Company has served as title sponsor, and finishers receive a commemorative medal, race swag, and a complimentary beer (21+) at a finish-line block party with live music. The 2026 edition drew more than 3,200 half-marathon finishers. A companion 5K runs the same morning along Commercial Street and the Eastern Promenade Trail. The half marathon starts at 7:00am with a 3-hour time limit, and A Running Passion, a charity supporting young athletes, is the event's charity partner. Online registration for the June 5, 2027 edition is open through venturesendurance.enmotive.com and oldporthalfmarathon.com.
