Padova Marathon
The Lowdown
Padova Marathon is Padua's annual spring marathon, run each April since 2000 under the name Maratona di Sant'Antonio before adopting its current Padova Marathon branding; the event traces back further to the Vedelago Marathon (1988-1999), which relocated to Padua and became international. The 2027 edition is scheduled for Sunday, April 18, 2027, starting at 8:30 am from the Euganeo Stadium area. The 42.195 km course runs through Rubano, Selvazzano Dentro, and Teolo along the edge of the Euganean Hills, reaches the thermal town of Abano Terme, then returns to Padua's historic center along Via Vescovado and Piazza del Duomo, past Piazza dei Signori, Piazza della Frutta, Caffè Pedrocchi, Palazzo del Bo, and the Basilica di Sant'Antonio, finishing in the elliptical Prato della Valle, one of Europe's largest squares. The marathon field is capped at roughly 2,000 runners, with a 6-hour-30-minute time limit and pacers for target finishes from 3:00 to 5:00. Race weekend also includes a half marathon starting from Abano Terme, a timed 10Crono, Stracittadine fun runs, a Night Run, a Breakfast Run, and a paralympic race, organized by Assindustria Sport. Registration for 2027 opened in July 2026, nearly ten months out, with tiered EUR pricing rising as race day approaches.
