Porthcawl 10K
The Lowdown
The Porthcawl 10K is an annual seaside road race in Porthcawl, on the South Wales coast, run on fully closed roads with a festival atmosphere outside the historic Grand Pavilion on the Promenade. Organized by Run 4 Wales (R4W) and designed by double Olympic marathon runner Steve Brace, the flat coastal route takes in panoramic views across Newton Bay, Trecco Bay and Sandy Bay, passes through Trecco Bay Holiday Park and the John Street shopping district with live music, skirts Rest Bay, and finishes near the Porthcawl Lighthouse on the Promenade. Pacers run in every start wave, and a water station sits at the 5K mark. The race is part of the Run 4 Wales 10K Series across South Wales and has grown steadily in recent years, with the 2025 edition drawing more than 6,200 entrants and the 2026 edition topping 6,800 across the 10K and junior races. Tŷ Hafan children's hospice is the lead charity partner. This record covers the next running, on Sunday 27 June 2027.
