Llandudno Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Llandudno Half Marathon is a scenic seaside half marathon along the North Wales coast, organized by Run Wales in partnership with Colwyn Bay Athletic Club, with the course sponsored by Llandudno Pier. The race starts and finishes at Venue Cymru on Llandudno's promenade, running along the waterfront past the Victorian Llandudno Pier, through Rhos-on-Sea, and back -- with the route's main challenge, the half-mile "Little Orme" hill, the smaller relative of the Great Orme climbed in the nearby Conwy Half Marathon. The rest of the course is mostly flat. A companion 10 Mile race runs the same morning over a shorter version of the same route. Runners must average roughly 12-15 minutes per mile, with a cutoff of about 3 to 3.5 hours; slower entrants are pulled from the course after mile three. Race HQ inside Venue Cymru opens at 7:30am with tea, coffee and snacks, and both races start at 10am. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal and technical t-shirt, with water stations roughly every three miles. The next edition takes place Sunday, April 4, 2027; entry costs GBP 42 (GBP 40 for affiliated club members), and a free-entry charity place is available through St David's Hospice with a minimum sponsorship commitment.
