The Lowdown

The Bath Half Marathon is one of the United Kingdom's longest-running road races, held in the historic Georgian city of Bath since 1982 and now the largest one-day charity fundraising event in South West England, having raised more than £30 million for charity since 2000. The race exits Royal Victoria Park and follows a flat, largely traffic-free course along the north bank of the River Avon before finishing with a climb up Royal Avenue, just past the famous Royal Crescent. More than 12,500 runners took part in the 2026 edition. London Marathon Events, organizer of the TCS London Marathon, acquired the race in 2024, and from 2025 it has run as the GetPRO Bath Half under a three-year title partnership, following earlier sponsors including Simplyhealth and EDF Energy. The 2027 edition takes place on Sunday, March 14, with the finish line closing at 16:00, giving entrants at least four and a half hours to complete the course. Entrants must be at least 17 years old on race day. A free companion event, the GetPRO Bath Miles (1 mile), runs the day before. Charity places are available through numerous partner organizations, typically requiring a modest entry fee plus a fundraising pledge of around £250.
