The Lowdown

The Cambridge Half Marathon is a flat, fully certified 13.1-mile road race through the historic streets and University of Cambridge colleges, launched in 2012 and now one of the UK's fastest-selling half marathons, drawing around 15,000 runners each spring. The course starts and finishes on Victoria Avenue beside the event village on Midsummer Common, loops through the city centre passing landmarks such as St John's College, Trinity College, King's College, Jesus College, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Wren Library, then heads out along The Backs and the River Cam into open countryside near the village of Grantchester before returning into town. With less than 320 feet of elevation gain, it is popular for personal bests and charity fundraising. TTP, a Cambridgeshire technology company, has been title sponsor since 2020. The 2026 edition (March 8, 2026) sold out; the organizer, THE·TEAM (SME Mass Participation Limited), has announced the next edition for March 14, 2027, with charity-partner entries typically available even after general registration closes.
