ProPotsdam Schlösserlauf
The Lowdown
ProPotsdam Schlösserlauf is an annual road race held each June in Potsdam, the capital of the German state of Brandenburg, on the doorstep of Berlin. Founded in 2004 as the Potsdamer Schlössermarathon, the event dropped the full-marathon distance in 2011 after entries proved too thin to sustain it, and has run as a half marathon plus 10K ever since. Both distances start and finish at the Sportpark Luftschiffhafen and share a route through six UNESCO World Heritage sites — Sanssouci Park and its Rococo palace, the Marmorpalais, Neuer Garten, Cecilienhof, Park Babelsberg, and the Russische Kolonie Alexandrowka — on a mostly paved course that mixes asphalt city streets with cobblestones and compacted park sand paths. A jK Kids Run over 1,000 meters runs alongside the main event. Registration is capped at 5,000 runners across all distances combined, and the 21st edition on June 7, 2026 drew roughly 4,515 finishers. The race is organized by Stadtsportbund Potsdam e.V. with ProPotsdam, the city's municipal housing association, as title sponsor. The 22nd edition is set for June 6, 2027; its registration portal opened July 14, 2026, and both the half marathon and the 10K have already sold out, with the waitlists for both distances also closed.
