The Lowdown

Rimini Marathon is a flat, FIDAL-certified marathon run each April along the Adriatic coast of Emilia-Romagna, with start and finish at the Rotonda Lucio Battisti beside the Grand Hotel Rimini. The 42.195 km course, which gains only about 195 meters over its full distance, alternates between the seafront promenade and Rimini's historic center, passing the Arch of Augustus, before returning to the beachfront finish -- a layout well suited to first-time marathoners and personal-best attempts, with a 7-hour time limit. A 21.097 km half marathon and a non-competitive 16 km Ten Miles share the course and race weekend, alongside a 7 km Family Run and a 2 km Kids Run. The 2026 edition, its 12th, drew roughly 10,000 total participants across all distances, with more than 2,100 finishers in the full marathon; that year's half marathon field sold out weeks before race day. The event is organized by ASD Rimini Marathon Unstoppable, with both the marathon and half marathon holding FIDAL National Calendar status. The 2027 edition is scheduled for the weekend of April 16-18, with the marathon and half marathon run on Sunday, April 18.
