The Run Barbados Marathon is the marathon-distance centerpiece of Run Barbados Marathon Weekend, a three-day island road-racing festival held every early December in Bridgetown, Barbados, and organized by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Now in its fifth decade (the 2025 edition marked the event's 42nd year), it is one of the oldest and most prestigious road races in the Caribbean, run as a single-loop course along the island's coast under a full AIMS-member certification. The marathon and half marathon start together at 5:30 a.m. on the final morning of the weekend, after a Friday fun mile and Saturday 5K/10K, with many runners cooling off in the sea after finishing before joining the local food and rum-based post-race party. The weekend leans into a festive, community-driven atmosphere rather than record chasing, and its entry fees carry a lower "resident" rate alongside the standard non-resident rate for visiting runners.
