Schweriner Fünf-Seen-Lauf

The Schweriner Fünf-Seen-Lauf (Schwerin Five Lakes Run) is one of the largest running events in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, first held in 1985 and returning for its 41st edition on July 3, 2027. Runners start and finish at Bertha-Klingberg-Platz in the heart of Schwerin, the state capital, on a course that winds past the city's UNESCO World Heritage ensemble of palaces, gardens, and lakeside promenades, with sweeping views of Schwerin Castle across the water. Despite the name, route changes over the decades mean today's course touches three of the city's lakes rather than five, on mostly flat paths with a few gentle rises.
