The Lowdown

The Semi-Marathon de Chartres Sitrans is an annual road race held each March in Chartres, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France, organized jointly by ASPTT Chartres, ACLAM, and the newspaper L'Écho Républicain. The 2026 edition was its 28th, drawing roughly 5,019 half-marathon finishers plus 222 children in the accompanying kids' races, a record turnout for the event and one of the flagship road races in the Eure-et-Loir département. Sitrans, a regional logistics and freight-transport company, has title-sponsored the 21.097 km distance since at least 2021, giving the event its long-standing 'Semi-Marathon de Chartres Sitrans' name alongside companion 10 km (ACLAM) and 5 km (L'Écho Républicain) races and free children's events organized with UNICEF. The loop course starts on Rue du Bourgneuf, passes beneath the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Chartres Cathedral, winds through the paved lanes of the historic center and the Bishop's Garden, then follows the banks of the Eure river, using 15.7 km of open roads and 4.3 km of cycle paths with about 67 meters of total elevation gain. The half marathon is FFA-labeled and serves as a qualifying race for the French national championships for licensed runners. The 2026 edition sold out its 2,500-bib cap for the half marathon ahead of race day. The next edition is expected in mid-March 2027, with the exact date and registration details not yet published as of August 2026.

Sitrans (regional logistics/freight company) has title-sponsored the half marathon since at least the early 2020s; the name has been stable across editions, unlike a newly-signed sponsorship, so it is kept in the record name per naming policy.
