Semi-Marathon de Paris

The Semi-Marathon de Paris is one of the world's largest half marathons, drawing roughly 48,000 runners through the streets of central and eastern Paris every March. Founded in 1993, the race starts on Boulevard Saint-Germain facing Île Saint-Louis, crosses the Seine, and passes the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Jardin des Plantes, and the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand before looping through the Bois de Vincennes and past the Château de Vincennes, then returns along the Seine to finish at Place de la Bastille via Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint-Antoine. The certified 21.0975 km course carries a gentle 166 meters of elevation gain, concentrated in the Bois de Vincennes section, and starts at 9:00am in nine successive waves through 11:24am, with a 3-hour course time limit. The event has carried more than one title sponsor over the years — Harmonie Mutuelle through the early-to-mid 2020s, then HOKA starting in 2025 under a five-year partnership — so this record uses the race's neutral common name rather than either sponsor's branding. A new operator, the Cadence group (Havas Events, Keneo, and OSE), takes over running the race starting with the 2027 edition, replacing longtime organizer A.S.O., and a new registration platform is expected to replace the previous TimeTo site. As of this record's creation, the organizer had only stated that 2027 registration details would be announced later, within the limit of available bibs. The most recently confirmed fee schedule, for the 2026 edition, ran from €55 for the earliest general-entry tier up to €75 for the final tier, plus roughly €13 for postal bib delivery; 2027 pricing has not yet been published. Based on the race's confirmed cadence of the second Sunday of March in both 2025 and 2026, the next edition is projected for March 14, 2027.
