The Lowdown

The Stillwater Half Marathon is an annual USATF-certified road race in Stillwater, Minnesota, organized by Run Stillwater, Inc. and titled-sponsored by TCO. The event has run every spring since the mid-2010s and was in roughly its 11th year as of the 2025 edition. Runners are shuttled from downtown Stillwater to a start on the paved Gateway State Trail, built along the former Soo Line Railroad corridor, then continue onto the Brown's Creek State Trail before finishing through the Victorian streets of downtown Stillwater at Pioneer Park, high on a bluff overlooking the St. Croix River Valley. The course is fully paved, flat, and fast, and the Half Marathon runs alongside a same-day 10K and 5K on the same trail network. Timing is handled by MTEC Results, and Midwest Pacers provides official pace groups for the half marathon. Finishers receive a collectible, stackable annual medal that is part of an ongoing yearly series. The race is not a Boston Marathon qualifier. The 2026 edition ran on May 23, 2026; the event's next edition is projected for May 29, 2027, following its usual Saturday-before-Memorial-Day date, with registration for that edition opening in fall 2026. Entry fees for the 2026 cycle started at $73 for the earliest registration window and rose in tiers through the season, topping out at $95 for race-weekend, in-person registration.
