The course is USATF certified and the half marathon starts at 7:00 a.m. The traditional route begins in Minnesota and finishes in Hudson, Wisconsin. In 2026 road construction moved all distances to a loop based at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo. A 10K and a 5K run the same morning, every finisher gets a collectible medal, aid stations offer water and Gatorade, and the time limit is 4 hours.
