The Lowdown

Uppsala Marathon is a single-lap marathon that starts and finishes at Uppsala Castle. The course follows the riverbanks along Ekoln and Fyrisån, crosses the city centre and continues north to the royal mounds of Old Uppsala. Roughly half of it is tarmac and half gravel road. A half marathon and a relay run on the same day, and the marathon doubles as the Swedish Marathon Championships. The 2026 edition on October 17 is sold out, and registration for 2027 opens on October 18.
