The Lowdown

The Warsaw Marathon is the Polish capital's main road race, run on a Sunday in late September with a 9:00 start near the Palace of Culture and Science. The course is a certified 42.195 km distance, and the finish is open for 6 hours 30 minutes with checkpoint cut-offs along the way. Minimum age is 18 on race day, and the standard route is capped at 14,000 places, with a further 1,000 places available through the #BiegamDobrze charity route. Aid stations offer water about every 2.5 km from the 5 km mark, with isotonic drink and bananas at alternating stations from 10 km. Every finisher receives a medal, and the race number gives free public transport in Zone 1 on race day. Start zones are set by the finish time declared at registration, and pacers run targets from 2:25 to 5:30. Bibs are collected at the Race Office beside the Palace of Culture and Science on the two days before the race, next to the Sport & Fitness Expo, with photo ID and the QR code sent by email and SMS. A 10K run and a Mini Marathon for children aged 3 to 16 take place the same weekend. The 2026 edition set an attendance record, with 10,830 marathon finishers.

Stephen Kibor (Kenya) won the men's race in 2:09:19. Lili Anna Vindics-Toth (Hungary) won the women's race in 2:24:48, lowering the course record by 3:47 and setting a Hungarian record. A record 10,830 runners finished the marathon.

Registration opened the day after the 48th edition, with 14,000 places in the standard route and 1,000 in the #BiegamDobrze charity route. The entry fee is 300 PLN until the end of December 2026 and rises in steps to 500 PLN from 1 June 2027.
