Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day 10K

The Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day 10K is Cincinnati's Thanksgiving morning tradition, a looped course through downtown that starts and finishes at TQL Stadium on the Ohio River. First held in 1908, it is one of the oldest continuously run road races in the United States, interrupted only by World War I in 1918, a management lapse in 1936, and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The event has long been organized by Pig Works, the organization behind the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, with the FC Cincinnati Foundation assuming stewardship starting in 2025. The 10K starts alongside a companion 5K at 9 a.m., while a quarter-mile ProAmpac Kids Fun Run kicks off at 8:30 a.m. More than 11,000 runners and walkers took part across the two main races in 2025, making it one of the largest Thanksgiving Day races in the country. Every finisher receives a medal, a first in the race's history as of 2025, along with race-day gloves and a swag bag, and the post-race Pella Recovery Zone offers snacks, hydration, stretching, and music at the finish. Proceeds benefit regional charities including the Alzheimer's Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Western & Southern Financial Group, a Cincinnati-based insurance and investment firm, has served as title sponsor since 2013.
