Aargau Halbmarathon

The Aargau Halbmarathon is an annual half marathon (21.1 km) held each March in Aarau, the capital of Switzerland's Aargau canton, organized with Golazo and benefiting the children's charity Stiftung Joël Kinderspitex. The 2027 edition, the race's 7th, is scheduled for March 7, 2027, with the half marathon and 3-person relay team category starting at 10:00 and a shorter 6 km run following shortly after. Since 2026 the start and finish sit at the Aarau horse racing track (Pferderennbahn Schachen), offering runners generous space to gather, celebrate, and enjoy finisher food. The hilly, scenic course is not built for fast times: it climbs from Aarauer Schachen through the town's old quarter ("city of beautiful gables"), past Brügglifeld stadium to Suhr, follows the Suhre river through Unterentfelden, tackles the Suhrerchopf stairs and the race's highest point at Ischlag, passes Wildpark Roggenhausen, then descends along the Aare River back to the finish. At the 2026 running, Gian-Andri Baumann (SSL Express) defended his title and set a new course record of 1:09:28, while Olivia Guyer won the women's race in 1:27:30 among 1,508 finishers. Every registered runner receives free round-trip public transport to Aarau through partnerships with RailAway, A-Welle and ZVV.
