The Lowdown
The Semi-Marathon de Cortaillod (branded Semi du CEP) is an annual half marathon and 10 km road race organized by CEP Cortaillod (Centre d'Éducation Physique de Cortaillod) each March, starting and finishing at the Stade du Littoral athletics track in neighboring Colombier on the shore of Lake Neuchâtel, in the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Both distances share a flat, fast figure-eight course: runners head north toward Neuchâtel and turn around at the Port de Serrières near the 5 km mark, then return to the stadium, where the 10 km field finishes; half marathon runners continue for a second loop through Cortaillod's lakeside vineyards, turning around near Pointe du Grain before finishing back at the stadium. The 31st edition ran on March 8, 2026, drawing a record 1,400 registrants and about 1,200 finishers, roughly double the prior year, with Antoine Grisel (Team Compressport) winning the men's half marathon in 1:09:09 and Linda Muther (Team smrun) winning the women's race in 1:21:22. Ahead of that edition, World Athletics officially certified both courses for five years, a homologation that also lets CEP Cortaillod host the first Neuchâtel cantonal off-stadium running championships. The 32nd edition is scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 2027 at 10:00, with online registration opening October 1, 2026 through SportChrono; besides the individual half marathon and 10 km, runners can also enter a 2-person half marathon relay or a non-competitive 10 km walking category.
