Semi du Rhône

Semi du Rhône is a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1K family race held each February in Bramois, a district of Sion in canton Valais, along the banks of the Rhône River. Local runner Dève Roux proposed the idea at a meeting of Sion running clubs in 2023 as an ideal tune-up race for marathon season; it debuted in September 2024 at the Domaine des Îles with over 300 finishers, skipped 2025, then returned in February 2026 relocated to the Bramois football field, where enclosed changing rooms and food service now serve a field of more than 700 participants. Organized by the CS 13 Étoiles athletics club, the course is a flat, Swiss Athletics-certified 5km riverside loop repeated four times for the half marathon, twice for the 10K, and once for the 5K. The race supports the PEAK association and the Ligue Valaisanne contre le Cancer, and its third edition, on February 28, 2027, will crown the first Valais cantonal half-marathon and 10K champions.
