Bangor City Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Bangor City Half Marathon is the autumn stop on Run Wales' 4 Castles Series, held each October in the coastal city of Bangor in Gwynedd, North Wales. The route starts and finishes in Bangor city centre near the Deiniol Shopping Centre, heading out to the coastline and along the historic Garth Pier over the Menai Straits with views of Anglesey and Snowdonia, before winding through woodland paths dressed in autumn colours and returning to the finish. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, October 4, with both the Half Marathon and a companion 10K starting together at 10:00 AM. Entrants must be at least 17 years old on race day, and organizers ask runners to hold roughly a 12-15 minute-per-mile pace to finish within the 3:30 time limit; those running slower are directed onto pavements as pedestrians once road closures reopen. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and technical t-shirt, with prizes awarded to the top three men and women and age-category winners. Entry currently starts at £44 and rises to £46 closer to race day.
