Bolton Half Marathon and 10K
The Lowdown
The Bolton Half Marathon and 10K is an annual road race through the town of Bolton in Greater Manchester, England, launched in 2026 by Epic Events under the title sponsorship of XMiles. Both distances start and finish together in Bolton's historic Queen's Park at 9:00 AM, tracing a route into the town centre past landmarks including Bolton Town Hall and Le Mans Crescent, much of it following the route used by the local Ironman run leg. The half marathon covers three laps of the circuit while the 10K covers one and a half; both courses are UKA-licensed and accurately measured. Half marathon entrants must return to Queen's Park from Park Road before noon, a roughly 10.75-mile checkpoint tied to the road-closure schedule. The inaugural 2026 edition was won by Jonny Sangster of Burnden Road Runners in 1:17:38. Entry includes a custom finisher's medal, on-route aid stations, electronic timing, finish-line drinks, and free downloadable event photos.
