Conero Running
The Lowdown
Conero Running is a FIDAL-certified 21.097 km half marathon along the Adriatic coastline of the Riviera del Conero in Numana, Marche, Italy. Now well into its second decade — the 2026 edition was the 14th — the race starts and finishes on Numana's Via Litoranea, running south along the seafront through the Scossicci district, crossing the Musone river, and continuing into neighboring Porto Recanati, where the course turns around at Parco Europa before retracing the same waterfront roads back to Numana. The route is flat and runs almost entirely along the coast, with the Adriatic Sea in view for most of the race. Conero Running is organized by Grottini Team Recanati ASD in partnership with the Comune di Numana, the Marche Region, the municipalities of Loreto, Recanati and Porto Recanati, CONI Marche, and Rotary Ancona 25-35, with support from the Parco del Conero and Riviera del Conero tourism association. Alongside the competitive half marathon, the event includes Conero Ten, a non-competitive 10.8 km run, and Mini Conero, a non-competitive 4 km race for children and families. One euro from every registration fee is donated to the Fondazione Ospedale Salesi, Ancona's regional pediatric hospital. The 2026 edition drew a record field of roughly 2,148 participants across all three races. Entry to the competitive half marathon requires FIDAL, Runcard, or an equivalent foreign federation affiliation, plus a valid agonistic medical certificate for athletics; the minimum age is 18 for Italian FIDAL-affiliated runners and 20 for Runcard or non-Italian entrants.
