The Lowdown
Coruña21 is A Coruña's annual half marathon, organized by the City Council of A Coruña and the Galician Athletics Federation along the Galician coast. The race starts at 09:30 at the Obelisco in Cantón Grande and finishes in Praza de María Pita, following a flat, fully asphalt course measured and certified by the Real Federación Española de Atletismo. A companion 5K starts a few minutes later, drawing runners of all levels into the Coruña Corre circuit. The 2026 edition, the eighteenth, drew a record 2,500 half-marathon entrants and over 3,800 combined with the 5K, and the city has since been confirmed as host of the 2027 Spanish Road Championship (mile, 5K, and half marathon). Registration typically opens in December through the Galician Athletics Federation's platform, carreirasgalegas.com, with tiered early-bird pricing.
