The Granada Half Marathon is Granada's flagship urban road race, organized by the city's Ayuntamiento (Concejalía de Deportes) since the 1980s under the Spanish name Media Maratón Ciudad de Granada. The 42nd edition ran April 25, 2026 at 7:30pm, starting on Calle Poeta Manuel de Góngora and finishing on the esplanade of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. The RFEA-homologated 21,097.5m course threads through the Albaicín, the pine forest below the Alhambra, and the Realejo quarter -- UNESCO World Heritage terrain that gives the race roughly 752 meters of accumulated elevation gain, making it a genuinely hilly half marathon rather than a fast one. All 6,000 bibs for the 2026 edition, title-sponsored by nutrition brand HSN, sold out in about 30 hours. The time limit is 2 hours 35 minutes, and runners must turn 18 in the race year. The next edition is expected around the last Saturday of April 2027, following the event's consistent annual date pattern, though the organizer had not yet published registration details as of this writing.
